Always loved the flowing chorus tone on this song. I created two versions of the clean patch (“Every Breath” and Every Breath 2“), both based on the Roland J120 jazz chorus amp. The only difference is the delay. And one preset for drive part (“Every Breath_BRT“). I wanted to add a drive pedal to j120, but it just didn’t sound right. So I decided to create a basic JCM800 tone with a moderate gain. Overall you will get:
- 2 clean patch versions + 1 for drive
- just in case something doesn’t load or you are experiencing compatibility problems – 2 video files showing everything.
I was using the firmware version 1.2.1 at the point of creating the patch. Keep your unit up-to-date.
EXP PEDAL SETTINGS:
I’ve set pedal A-mode to control volume, and B-mode for treble on clean, and gain on the “drive patch”. Sounds a bit complicated, but it works. Use the pedal at your preference and depending on your guitar’s tone.
MY GLOBAL SETTINGS
My Squier strat’s got very mild output tone, so I crank the input gain in global settings by +5-6db. I believe it should sound a bit fatter and brighter on most humbucked guitars. Use eq at your preference.
Sorry, no refunds! If somehow you are not satisfied with the sound on your equipment – don’t blame it on me. Should you encounter difficulties loading/compatibility issues – the supplementary videos with all the settings are included.
